China Culture Camp
Ms. Amna Murad, a lecturer at the Center for Languages (CFL), recently had the privilege to attend the China Culture Camp, a fully funded exchange program hosted by the Sichuan Vocational College for Information and Technology, from June 3rd to 14th. The camp provided her the opportunity to enhance her linguistic and cultural proficiency through the successful completion of two courses: Spoken Chinese and Chinese Culture. The program included immersive visits to significant cultural landmarks such as Jianmen Pass, Cuiyun Corridor, Zhahoa Ancient City, and the Han Costume Culture Base. Ms. Murad also explored the Guangyun Museum and experienced traditional Chinese hospitality at a Cultural Tea House. Additionally, she actively engaged in a variety of cultural activities including Tai Chi, Dragon and Lion dance, paper cutting, and pyrography, which deepened her appreciation and understanding of Chinese traditions. This enriching experience not only broadened her cultural knowledge but also diversified her linguistic competence, which she looks forward to leveraging to benefit her students.
